Fermentation

and Elevage

My ode to the tradition of a Beaujolais nouveau, this was made for the Californian spirit.

The grape is a teinturier variety which means it has red flesh along with its' skins. The wine was pressed immediately after harvest with no skin contact. There may be some Mission grapes mixed in here as well. Fermented with 100% indigenous yeasts. Contains sulfites.

The color of blood, this wine is reminiscent of raspberry, pomegranate, and cobblestones

42 cases produced.

120 Year Old Vines

grown in Delta Sand

The story of this vineyard is truly unique. The vines themselves are 120 years old but they haven't always been in the land where they now reside. These vines were transplanted. Once in clear view of the San Joaquin River reaching the San Francisco Bay, their view is now suburban; being bordered by homes and train tracks. These grapes were harvested by Tom Sherwood, Seth Yungert, and myself on August 20,2025. We ate, we drank, we smiled. Now you must do the same.
