Sea salt, lemon custard, and ruby grapefruit on the nose. On the palate, more of the same fruits with a slight, sweet oyster brininess, and freshly cracked walnut. Texturally, this wine is driven by acid but balanced with a saline texture and very crushable.
Fermented with native yeasts in 500l puncheons on heavy lees. Sourced from the Century-Old, Bridgehead Vineyard in Oakley, CA. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and (unfortunately for me) hand labeled.
